Microwave Oven
In a cozy, slightly eerie lab filled with gadgets and glowing buttons, there was a little man called Percy Spencer. He was always tinkering with things and had a very curious mind. Among his shelves of beeping machines and bubbling potions, Percy had a magical machine called the magnetron, which was used to power radars. One calm and frosty night, as Percy was working late in his lab, something unexpected happened. Percy was thinking about how to make the magnetron even more powerful, when suddenly, he noticed something odd—his chocolate bar, which he had left in his pocket, had melted all over his shirt! Percy scratched his head in surprise and said, "Well, that’s curious! How did that happen?" He wiped off the melted chocolate and decided to do some investigating. Percy called his best friend, Max the mouse, who lived behind the shelves in the lab. Max scurried up to Percy and said, "What’s up, Percy? Why are you so puzzled?" “Max, look at this!” Percy held out his chocolate-stained pocket. “The chocolate melted when I was near the magnetron! I think it's because of the waves from the machine.” Max’s whiskers twitched with excitement. “Wow, Percy! Do you think the magnetron can cook food?” Percy’s eyes sparkled with curiosity and adventure. “Let’s find out!” he said. He picked up a popcorn kernel from his lunch bag and placed it near the magnetron. Percy turned on the machine, and both he and Max watched eagerly. Suddenly, POP! The popcorn kernel burst open into fluffy white popcorn! Percy and Max jumped back in surprise. “It worked!” Percy exclaimed. “The magnetron cooked the popcorn!” Max squeaked with delight. “Can we try something else, Percy?” So they rushed around the lab, grabbing different foods. They placed a potato near the magnetron, and sure enough, it cooked right through. They tried a slice of bread, and it toasted perfectly. Each time, Percy and Max squealed with joy. “Max, we’ve discovered something amazing! We can use these waves to cook food quickly and easily,” Percy said. He got to work designing a new machine—a box where people could safely cook their food using these special waves. He wanted to make sure it was simple enough for anyone to use. After weeks of tinkering, Percy finally announced to Max, “I’ve done it! I’m calling this marvel… the Microwave Oven!” Max hopped around excitedly. “That’s fantastic, Percy! Think of all the people who will get to enjoy hot meals in just minutes!” Percy smiled and nodded. From that day on, Percy’s Microwave Oven became a beloved invention, found in kitchens all around the world. It made life easier and more delicious for everyone. And every time people heard the familiar beep of their microwave, they would think of Percy Spencer and his curious mind, and perhaps even his friend Max the mouse, who helped him discover the magic of microwave cooking.
