Guess How Much I Love You
In a cozy burrow nestled beneath the towering trees of a peaceful forest, lived Little Nutbrown Hare. The burrow was warm and snug, filled with soft, mossy nests and dried flowers hanging from the ceiling. The sun had just set, draping the sky in a blanket of twilight hues.
Little Nutbrown Hare was feeling an overwhelming rush of love for Big Nutbrown Hare and wanted to express just how much he was cherished. With a playful hop, Little Nutbrown Hare caught the attention of his dear friend and mentor.
“Guess how much I love you,” Little Nutbrown Hare asked, his eyes twinkling with excitement.
Big Nutbrown Hare, with a kind smile, leaned in closer. “Oh, I don’t think I could guess that,” he replied, ready to join in the game.
Little Nutbrown Hare stretched his tiny arms as wide as he could. “I love you this much!”
Big Nutbrown Hare chuckled softly, “But I love you as much as this!” And he stretched his own long arms even wider.
Determined to show even more, Little Nutbrown Hare stood on his tiptoes and reached toward the ceiling of their burrow. “I love you as high as I can reach!”
Smiling, Big Nutbrown Hare lifted Little Nutbrown Hare high into the air, almost touching the burrow ceiling. “And I love you as high as I can reach,” he said warmly.
Not to be outdone, Little Nutbrown Hare bounced high into the air and down a familiar, grassy path outside the burrow. “I love you all the way to the tree at the edge of our meadow!”
Big Nutbrown Hare followed with a gentle hop, nodding appreciatively. “And I love you to the river that runs beyond that tree.”
Little Nutbrown Hare thought hard, gazing up at the twinkling stars. “I love you all the way up to the moon,” he declared triumphantly.
Big Nutbrown Hare’s eyes softened as he gently picked up the little hare and tucked him into a nest of soft, mossy leaves. “And I love you right up to the moon—and back,” he whispered tenderly.
The forest around them hummed with the soft, gentle sounds of night. The trees swayed gently, as if they too were whispering their love stories under the crescent moon.
Feeling the warmth and security of Big Nutbrown Hare’s embrace, Little Nutbrown Hare yawned sleepily and closed his eyes. “Goodnight, Big Nutbrown Hare,” he murmured.
Big Nutbrown Hare sat by the nest watching over his precious Little Nutbrown Hare, a serene contentment surrounding him. “Goodnight, Little Nutbrown Hare,” he whispered, “to the moon and back again.”
The peaceful burrow grew silent as both hares drifted into dreams filled with endless fields of love, always stretching farther than they could ever reach.
