El Principito
In a small, cozy bedroom filled with twinkling stars painted on the ceiling, and shelves overflowing with books and tiny toy airplanes, there was a boy named Leo. Leo was a curious child, always dreaming of far-off places and fantastical adventures. His favorite story was one he heard from his grandpa about a little prince who lived on a distant asteroid.
One calm evening, as Leo lay in bed, he saw a flickering light near his nightstand. To his surprise, a tiny figure, no bigger than a toy soldier, appeared in a beam of light. It was the Little Prince! He wore a green suit, a golden scarf, and had a curious smile on his face.
"Are you the Little Prince?" Leo whispered, eyes wide with wonder.
"Yes, I am," replied the Prince. "I've come from Asteroid B-612 to find friends and share my stories."
Leo sat up immediately, "What stories? Please share them with me!"
The Prince nodded and began to tell his tale. "I live on a small planet with three volcanoes and a single rose. My rose is very special to me, but she can be quite demanding. One day, I decided to explore other planets."
The Little Prince's voice was soft, but his words painted vivid pictures in Leo's mind. "First, I visited an asteroid where a King lived. He loved giving orders, but there was no one to command except me. It was quite lonely."
As the Prince spoke, Leo imagined the lonely King sitting on his tiny throne, wearing a grand crown too big for his head.
"Then I met a vain man who cared only for applause, but he was the only one on his planet. And there was a businessman counting stars, thinking they made him rich."
"That's so silly," Leo giggled. "Stars can't be owned!"
"Exactly," nodded the Prince.
He continued, "On another asteroid, I met a lamp-lighter turning a streetlamp on and off every minute because his day was so short. And then there was a geographer who never went anywhere but wrote down what explorers told him."
Leo was fascinated. "Did you meet anyone nice?"
The Prince smiled warmly. "Yes, on Earth, I met a fox. He taught me about friendship. He said, 'One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye.' The fox became my friend but reminded me that one must be responsible for what they tame."
Leo's eyes sparkled. "What's essential is invisible to the eye," he repeated thoughtfully. "That's beautiful."
The Little Prince nodded. "The most important things can only be seen when we look with our hearts. I also met a pilot who was stranded in the desert. We became friends while he tried to fix his plane."
Leo gasped, "Just like my grandpa's story!"
"Yes," the Prince replied. "Your grandpa was that pilot. He told me he'd share our adventure with you one day."
Leo smiled widely. "I knew it! Will you stay?"
The Little Prince shook his head gently. "I must return to my rose. She needs me. But remember, Leo, the stars will always remind you of me. When you look up at them, you'll see memories shining brightly."
Leo felt a warm glow in his heart as the Little Prince began to fade back into the beam of light. "Goodbye, Little Prince. I'll never forget you."
"And I'll always be watching over you," the Prince whispered before he disappeared.
As Leo lay back down, he felt a sense of peace and adventure in his heart. He knew that every star in the sky now held a story, and with a twinkle in his eye, he drifted off to sleep, dreaming of distant planets and old friends found in the most unexpected places.
