Cockatoo
Once upon a time, in a cozy children's bedroom, there lived a curious cockatoo named Percy. The bedroom was filled with fascinating objects: a glowing globe, stuffed animals from every corner of the world, and a telescope that reached the stars. As bedtime crept near, shadows danced on the walls, giving the room a slightly eerie, yet magical feeling. Percy loved to explore the room every night, hopping from one treasure to another. One night, as Percy perched atop the telescope, a tiny, twinkling light flickered outside the window. It was as if the stars themselves were calling. Suddenly, Percy heard a soft whisper, "Help, please help!" The voice seemed to come from the glowing globe. With a flap of his bright wings, Percy approached. The whisper grew louder, "Our star is fading, and we need your help to light it again!" Percy didn’t hesitate. He twitched his crest and called out to his best friend, a little girl named Lily who was tucked in bed, ready for sleep. "Lily! The stars need us!" Lily rubbed her sleepy eyes and sat up. "What do you mean, Percy?" she asked, puzzled but curious. Percy explained, "The globe says a star is dying, and we must relight it!" Lily sprang into action, grabbing her adventure backpack filled with a flashlight, some snacks, and a notepad for drawings. She opened the window, and Percy fluttered onto her shoulder. Together, they climbed out and followed the twinkling light into the night. Using the telescope, they aimed for the brightest star in the sky and were instantly transported to a land of shimmering constellations. Stars twinkled everywhere, forming pathways that glowed underfoot. In the distance, they saw a dim, flickering light. "We have to find the Star Queen," Percy squawked, his eyes wide with excitement. They hurried along the twinkling path, and soon arrived at a grand, shimmering palace. Inside, they found the Star Queen, sitting sadly on her throne made of moonbeams. "Your Majesty," Percy said bravely, "We are here to help relight the star." The Star Queen smiled warmly. "Thank you, brave ones. The only way to light the star again is to find the missing Stardust Crystal." Lily nodded and asked, "Where can we find it?" The Star Queen pointed to a sparkling cave at the edge of the starry landscape. "In there," she said, "But beware of the Shadow Sprites. They don't like intruders." Percy puffed out his feathers. "We're not afraid!" he declared. Holding Lily’s hand, he led the way. Inside the cave, they saw shadows dancing and heard whispers echoing. Suddenly, tiny, shadowy figures sprung up. "Who dares enter our cave?" they chanted. "It's us, Percy and Lily," Percy squawked, "We need the Stardust Crystal to save the star!" The Shadow Sprites paused. "Why should we help you?" they asked suspiciously. Lily stepped forward. "Because we believe in the magic of the stars and the kindness they hold. We promise to return it safely." The sprites huddled together, then nodded. One sprite brought forward the sparkling Stardust Crystal. "Remember your promise," it said. With the crystal in hand, Percy and Lily hurried back to the Star Queen. They placed the crystal into the star's heart, and it burst into brilliant light, brighter than ever before. "Thank you, brave souls," the Star Queen said. "You've saved our star." Percy and Lily felt a warm glow as they were gently lifted back to Lily's bedroom. The stars outside winked brightly at them in gratitude. As Percy nestled back onto his perch and Lily climbed into bed, they knew they had made a difference. "Goodnight, Percy," Lily whispered. "Goodnight, adventurer," Percy replied with a happy chirp. And from then on, every night, the stars shone a little brighter, knowing they had friends like Percy and Lily ready to help.
